The church is following Government and Diocesan guidelines
in leaving the church open for individual prayer and will review this from time
It must be stressed that this is for private visits only. Please do not arrange to meet friends or fellow congregants
but enjoy the peace and quiet of our sacred space on your own. Please use the hand sanitizer before you enter the body of
the church and please ensure that there are no more than 4 people in the
building at any one time. Please use only the pews on the right hand side of the
church and refrain from entering the roped off area. Please keeping a social distance of 2 metres between each
other unless you are with someone from the same household. If you pick up a prayer leaflet please take it home with
you as they are not to be reused. Please contact us immediately if you develop COVID symptoms
within 2 weeks of your visit to the church.
Visitors to the church are very welcome and the church is open daily from 10am to 3pm during the winter and 10am to 4pm during the summer. Due to circumstances out of our control sometimes church open times may differ, if you are making a special visit please check before visiting. Visitors must note that St Peter and St Paul’s Church is an ancient church with a stone floor. Please be aware as you are walking around inside the building that some of this flooring is uneven.
Access to the church at any time other than at a service involves 2 sets of 2 to 3 stone steps without handrails. If disabled access is required please contact the Parish Administrator (click to email) to organise access.
Prof. Ted Howard is happy to arrange talks to groups on the history of the church and the history and meaning of the 12th century mural for a small fee to the Friends.
During British Summer Time there are tea and cakes available on Sundays between 3pm and 4.30pm.
Sunday Teas will start again in 2021 when COVID
restrictions are lifted enough to allow them to do so..
