Over £1100 has been raised by the talk on the Mural and donations from those who booked places. This will all go towards the cost of the recent conservation work on the mural.
The joint Friends and Chaldon History Zoom talk on the mural by Ted Howard on Saturday 27th March was a great success. 167 people booked places and recordings of the talk can still be bought from the Chaldon History Group website (£5). In addition the Friends received a number of small donations for the Mural Appeal and a generous one.
In his talk Ted explained the context for church wall paintings and gave the sources for many of the scenes that are depicted in the Chaldon mural.
The work on the mural is finished and in particular the section with the three woman in the bottom lefthand corner has been repaired after damage caused by damp.
